Meet Angelo Iacono

Angelo Iacono was elected as the Member of Parliament for Alfred-Pellan in the 42nd general election on October 19, 2015. His parliamentary work includes sitting on the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and on the Standing Joint Committee on the Library of Parliament. He is Vice-Chair of the Liberal Aerospace Caucus, of the Canada-Italy Interparliamentary Group, of the Canada-Lebanon Parliamentary Friendship Group, and Treasurer of the Québec Liberal Caucus.

Politician, attorney, public servant, humanitarian and geared towards community service, Angelo is a determined and passionate man with a wide professional experience. His involvement with politics started in his teenage years, and he remains above all a strong defender of Canadian values who strives to humanize politics.

He holds a B.A. degree in Political Science from McGill University, studied civil law at UQAM, and holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Ottawa. In search of new horizons, Angelo obtained a certificate from the European Union & its institutions and a certificate on European Community Law by the Faculty of Law of Lyons, France.

Angelo speaks several languages, and his openness to the world and his close ties to the various ethnic communities add to his natural charisma.

Married and father of one, socially and professionally engaged, he invests time to the help causes dear to his heart. Cancer and heart disease having touched his family, Angelo acted as a natural caregiver for his mom for several years and understands the level of commitment and compassion it requires.

Angelo is committed to serving the residents of Alfred-Pellan with passion and dedication using dialogue and openness and to follow in the vision taught by his parents, part of the labor force, which is the pursuit of a better life for generations to come.
